The nation's only oil refinery has appointed a new chief executive to take over from the departing head Ken Rivers.
Refining NZ says Sjoerd Post will next January take over leadership of the Whangarei-based company which supplies around 80 percent of the country's refined fuels.
He will oversee a $365 million expansion of the refinery which was approved by Refining NZ shareholders earlier this year.
Mr Post has been in a variety of roles for the oil giant Shell International Petroleum over the past 30 years.
Mr Rivers will be returning to the UK in December, for family reasons.
