The New Zealand market was down 14 points, or 0.4% on Wednesday.
The NZX50 closed at 3530 on turnover of $28 million.
When the markets closed the NZ dollar was at 81.13 US, 77.34 Australian, 51.77 pence, 63.28 yen and 0.6597 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.02.
Fletcher Building was down 5 cents to $6.06, Telecom was down 0.5 cents at $2.65, Chorus was down 3 cents at $3.08 and Contact Energy was down 3 cents to $4.98.
Sky City Entertainment was down 4 cents at $3.52, Sky Network Television was down 4 cents at $4.93, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 2 cents at $1.89 and The Warehouse was up 4 cents to $2.64.
Cavalier Corp was down 3 cents to $1.60, OceanaGold was down 6 cents to $2.59, Xero was down 9 cents to $5.25 and NZX was down 2 cents at $1.15.
