The NZX50 index rose 5 points, or 0.13%, to close at 3663 on turnover of $80 million on Thursday.
The NZ dollar was at 81.69 US, 77.72 Australian, 51.37 pence, 64.14 yen and 0.6513 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.13.
Fletcher Building gained 5c to $6.37, Telecom was down 2c at $2.75, Chorus was up 5c at $3.22 and Contact Energy was unchanged at $4.92.
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare fell 2c to $2.02 and the Warehouse rose 5c to $2.76.
Hallenstein Glassson was up 1c to $4.40, Cavalier down 3c to $1.72 and NZX up 1c to $1.07.
