Topics sought for inquiry by Productivity Commission

12:26 pm on 11 September 2012

The Treasury is asking for ideas on topics for an inquiry by the Productivity Commission.

The commission is currently analysing economic relations between New Zealand and Australia, and the effectiveness of local government regulation.

It earlier looked at ports and shipping and housing affordability.

These inquiries are due to be completed December this year and April next year respectively.

The Treasury says ideas should be based on their ability to improve productivity and support overall well-being, and require substantial analysis of complex issues.
