NZ market up, Australian down

By 12.30pm, the NZX50 index was up 10 points, or 0.28%, on turnover of $44 million.

The Australian 200 index was down 15 points at 4,318.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 80.79 US cents, 78.21 Australian cents, 50.48 pence, 63.26 yen and 0.6334 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.26.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was up 5 cents to $1.02 after announcing on Monday that Haier is considering a takeover offer.

Fletcher Building was up 6 cents to $6.61, Port of Tauranga down 8 cents at $12.57, Sky City down 3 cents at $3.89 and Mainfreight up 5 cents at $9.95.

Chorus was up 2 cents at $3.48 and Telecom up 3 cents at $2.47.

Vector was down 2 cents at $2.76, Nuplex down 1 cent at $3.07 and Cavalier up 4 cents at $1.79.

Ryman was up 1 cent at $3.98, Sky TV up 1 cent at $5.06 and The Warehouse down 4 cents at $2.80.

Skellerup was up 1 cent at $1.67, Xero down 7 cents at $4.85 and Ebos Group was up 10 cents at $8.26.
