New Zealand market down

The benchmark NZX50 index was down 6 points to 3798 on Wednesday.

When the markets closed the NZ dollar was at 82.92 US, 79.25 Australian, 51.01 pence, 65.65 yen and 0.6345 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.51.

Telecom was down 17.5 cents to $2.31, Fletcher Building was up 12 cents to $7, Chorus was down 17 cents to $3.37 and Contact was up 9 cents to $5.18.

Sky City Entertainment was up 1 cent at $3.83, Sky Network TV was down 1 cent to $5.01.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at $1.185 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 1 cent to $2.13.

The Warehouse was down 2 cents at $2.91.

Mainfreight was up 13 cents to $10.63, Metlifecare was up 10 cents to $3.05, Comvita was up 13 cents to $4.23, Cavalier was up 7 cents to $2.00 and Sanford was up 5 cents to $4.15.

Port of Tauranga was down 27 cents to $12.70, AMP was down 8 cents to $5.60, OceanaGold was down 5 cents to $3.70, Diligent Board Member Services was unchanged at $3.85, Briscoe Group was unchanged at $2 and Kathmandu was down 6 cents to $1.70.

TradeMe was down 1 cent at $4.02.
