AirNZ deputy to retire

Air New Zealand deputy chief executive Norm Thompson is set to retire after four decades in the aviation field.

Mr Thompson will step down as chief executive and acting group general manager international airline, in June next year.

Departing chief executive Rob Fyfe says few Air New Zealand employees have made as significant contribution to the airline and tourism industry over the past 44 years.

He said Mr Thompson has been a critical person in helping to develop the airline.
