50% rise in coal capacity forecast by BHP

BHP Billiton believes it can lift coking coal production capacity in Queensland by 50% to 66 million tonnes per year by the end of 2014.

The company said on Tuesday that production capacity in Queensland would reach 66 million tonnes per year by the end of 2014 .

AAP reports BHP shares were 16 cents higher at $A33.99 at 1.40pm AEST.
