The NZX 50 is up 25 points to close at 3997 on turnover of $121 million on Thursday.
At 5.09pm the NZ dollar was trading at 81.58 US, 78.52 Australian, 51.11 pence, 67.23 yen and 0.6353 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.29.
Telecom was up 1.5 cents to $2.35, Fletcher Building was up 11 cents to $7.84, Chorus was up 5 cents at $3.25 and Contact Energy was up 2 cents at $5.18.
Auckland International Airport was down 1 cent at $2.665, Sky City Entertainment was down 3 cents to $3.77 and Sky Network TV was up 2 cents at $5.00.
Diligent Board Member Services was up 14 cents to $4.74, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was up 5 cents to $2.49, Hallenstein Glasson was up 10 cents to $5.25 and Mainfreight was up 8 cents to $10.78.
