NZX 50 roses a little on Friday

The NZX50 index rose 4 points on Friday to close the week at 3979.

Air New Zealand fell 1.5 cents to $1.325, Chorus fell 4 cents to $2.70, Ebos Group is up 3 cents to $8.45, Fletcher Building is down 3 cents to $8.26.

Freightway dropped 5 cents to $4.23, Infratil dropped 2 cents to $2.24, Trade Me fell 3 cents to $4.05.

Port of Tauranga closed the session down 6 cents at $13.04, and shares in Rubicon dropped another 1 cent to 27 cents (down 3.57%) after the company complained publicly that its then share price of 28 cents did not reflect the true value of the firm.

Shares in APN News and Media returned to year lows - falling 2 cents to 36 cents each (down 5.26%) - after it said weaker advertising revenues will hurt its profits.

Big box retailer The Warehouse was unchanged at $2.94.

Hallenstein Glassons rose 4 cents to $5.16, Ebos Group rose 3 cents to $8.45, Sky Television lifted 2 cents to $4.83, and SkyCity rose 4 cents to $3.60.

Telecom was up 2 cents at $2.175.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 84.37 US cents, 80.11 Australian cents, 52.35 pence, 70.79 yen, 0.6448 of a euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 75.36 points.
