Lyttelton Port posts strong half-year result

The Lyttelton Port of Christchurch has posted a strong half-year result due to an increase in container volumes, bulk fuel volumes and dry bulk imports.

The port's profit rose to $3.3 million in the six months to December, 15% higher than the same period a year ago. Revenue was up 4.5% to $54.2 million.

The company says it is positioned well for the second half, and the increase in dairy volumes from new and expanding facilities in the Canterbury region is a key driver in its growth.
