Trading on the stock market has risen, with share trading rising 5% to more than 81,500 in February compared with the same period a year ago.
NZX said the value of those trades rose 58% to $3.5 billion, driven by higher share prices.
Funds have been pouring into equities, fuelled by the recovery, more KiwiSaver money, low interest rates and recent share floats.
The total value of stocks rose 22% to $69.7 billion, or 34% of GDP.
