NZ wool dying technique gets global licence

10:06 am on 20 March 2013

A new technology developed by AgResearch that allows wool to be dyed in two separate colours at the same time has been licensed globally.

The process allows woollen clothing to include graphics and images which are dyed directly into the fabric.

The innovation is being commercialised by BGI Development. It has signed an exclusive deal with US firm Global Merino which will produce activewear using the new technique.
