A Chinese airline has made two deals with the New Zealand Government which will make it easier for Chinese visitors to come to New Zealand to travel or study.

One of the deals, which has been renewed by China Southern Airlines with Immigration New Zealand means frequent flyer card holders don't have to produce evidence of enough funds to support themselves while in the country.

The airline has also signed a statement of intent with Education New Zealand to encourage Chinese students to study in New Zealand.

More than 190,000 Chinese tourists visit this country each year.

Around 10,000 young people from southern China study in New Zealand annually.
