Warehouse purchase improves access to higher end brands

The Warehouse says its acquisition of Noel Leeming has radically changed its access to higher end brands like Sony and Acer.

The country's largest listed retailer purchased the electronics company for $65 million last year with the aim of broadening its range of products.

It's all part of the companies attempt to reverse a loss of market share, and offer its goods and services a number of ways, not just through its so-called Red Shed general merchandise stores and Blue Shed stationary shops.

The Warehouse Group chief executive Mark Powell says the acquisition of Noel Leeming has been good for the Warehouse and allowed it to engage strategically with a number of suppliers.
