The multinational owner of the Beaurepairs brand is planning to sell it to a New Zealand family.

Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres is planning to sell its retail operations to Beau Ideal Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The operations include 52 retail stores and the Beaurepairs and Goodyear Auto Service Centre retail marketing and licensing programs in New Zealand.

A spokesman for Goodyear & Dunlop, Marty Dinniss, says the company has been reviewing its position in the New Zealand market for quite some time.

He says Beau Ideal Ltd is owned by the Rushbrooke family who have 25 years experience in tyre wholesaling and retailing.

Mr Dinnis says the 180 people who work for the Beaurepairs brand will keep their jobs.
