NZ market ends trading week higher

The New Zealand sharemarket rose 8 points, or 0.2%, to close at 3015 on turnover of $44 million on Friday.

Fletcher Building fell 12 cents to $7.35 per share, but Telecom gained 5c to $2.06 and Contact Energy rose 10c to $5.80.

Sky City Entertainment was up 1c to $3.02 and Sky Network Television also gained 1c to $5.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare rose 1c to $2.89, while Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 50c.

Retailer The Warehouse was unchanged at $3.47 and Hallenstein Glasson fell 3c to $3.82.

Allied Farmers was up a tenth of a cent to 2.6c.

PGG Wrightson Finance fell 3c cents to 53c after returning an annual profit of $23 million.

At 5.20pm on Friday, the New Zealand dollar was trading at 71.47 US, 79.37 Australian, 45.75 pence, 61.49 yen and 0.5558 euro. The Trade Weighted Index stood at 66.71.
