Barfoot & Thompson says the number of houses being put on sale in the Auckland market sank to an all-time low last month, although the average house price remained static.
The company said the average Auckland sale price in June rose less than 1% to nearly $650,000 compared with May.
Almost 1200 houses were listed last month, and the company sold 1060.
Barfoot & Thompson said this was the closest it's come to selling the same number of properties as it has listed in a month in the last 11 years.
Managing director Peter Thompson said demand for properties is intense and houses are selling within a tighter time frame than at any time in the last decade.
