Cooks Food Group is buying Progressive Processors, which is based in Whakatane.
Cooks, which is also in the process of acquiring Esquires Coffee Houses outside New Zealand, said the agreement is subject to approval by Cooks shareholders in September.
Progressive Processors grows, supplies and processes a number of fresh fruits and vegetables to domestic and export markets.
As well as acquiring the offshore Esquires Coffee Houses business, Cooks intends to acquire supply businesses in the food and beverage sector.
