First-half net profit for Briscoe Group rose 12.4%.
The company, which operates the Rebel Sport, Briscoes and Living & Giving chains, reported a profit of $14.9 million for the six months to July compared with $13.3 million in the same period last year.
However, managing director Rod Duke said Briscoe's gross profit margin for the sporting goods and homewares retailer slipped half a percentage point because of an extraordinarily challenging start to the year due to the very late start of winter.
