Wholesale trade sales fell during the June quarter.
Seasonally adjusted total sales sales fell 1.5%, after rising in the two previous quarters. Four of six industry sectors reported lower sales.
The largest falls were in the machinery and equipment wholesaling sectors, down 2%, while agricultural supplies and non-food products fell 1.9%.
Motor-vehicle and parts wholesaling rose 4%.
Wholesale trade accounts for 5% of GDP.
