Boeing expects to deliver more than 1000 aircraft across the New Zealand, Australian and South Pacific region over the next two decades.

The budget carrier, Jetstar, which operates routes between Australia and New Zealand, will receive its first 787 Dreamliner in Melbourne this week.

The Seattle-based manufacturer expects to deliver 1,010 new jets across the region by 2032, with 70% of those deliveries for fleet growth, rather than fleet replacement.

And Boeing is forecasting that within two decades China will replace the US as the world's largest domestic air passenger market.
