Online job vacancies have increased for the second consecutive month.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's latest Jobs Online report shows that seasonally adjusted online advertisments for all workers rose by 3.2% and advertisments for skilled workers rose by 1.1% in October.
The construction and engineering industry experienced the biggest increase, up 4.6%, followed by the information technology industry, up 4%.
The biggest fall was in the healthcare and medical industry, down 3.7%.
By region, the biggest increases in skilled worker vacancies were in Auckland and Canterbury.
In the year to October, skilled and all vacancies both increased by 7.6% and 12.6% respectively.
