Online retail sales continued to grow at a double-digit pace in December, although purchases from offshore merchants outpaced domestic online sales more than three to one.
BNZ's Online Retail Sales Index rose 13% in December compared with a year earlier.
The bank's director of institutional research, Gary Baker, said online purchases from offshore merchants were up 24% while domestic purchases were up 7%.
Mr Baker said underlying growth in numbers buying online from overseas stores is very strong.
