Barfoot & Thompson says real estate sales in Auckland in March were down nearly 3 percent from March last year.
House prices rose 7 percent compared with February with the average house price reaching $725,708.
Bhief executive Wendy Alexander said March is traditionally the busiest month for the real estate market.
She said new listings for the latest month were the highest for any March for six years although properties continue to sell quickly.
