Confidence in the Wellington region's economy has shown another sharp increase.
The latest Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce Business Confidence Survey shows confidence is now three times higher than nine months ago.
A net 53.7 percent of business respondents say they expect the Wellington economy to improve over the next 12 months.
The latest figures compare with a net 40 percent in December last year expecting an improvement, 27.6 percent in August, and just 18.4 percent in May.
The quarterly survey was conducted in the last two weeks of March.
