Internet-based labour management company GeoOp has more than quadrupled its workforce, which has worsened its bottom line loss.

The technology start-up company was floated on the alternative stock exchange last year.

It made a net loss of $4.58 million in the year ended March, compared with a loss of $312,000 in the previous year.

Subscription revenue rose from $61,000 in 2013 to $341,000 in the latest year.

But, expenses ballooned from $436,000 in 2013 to $5 million in 2014, with employee costs the main contributor, up by almost $2 million.

Former director of SalesForce.Com, Rhonda Robati, is among a raft of new hires for the company and GeoOp is banking on her 25 years' sales experience to further boost sales growth.

GeoOp chief executive Leanne Graham said the company continues to grow and increase its ability to meet rising demand for its subscription services.

Ms Graham said costumers in Australia are driving the increased demand.
