SeaDragon says its first half revenue is up 17 percent on last year.

The fish oil producer's revenue for the six months ended September was almost $2.5 million dollars, helped considerably by strong sales last month.

The company achieved record sales of just over $1 million in the month of September alone, after making headway in securing the supply contracts it needed to move its business forward.

SeaDragon chief executive Ross Keeley said the company had also secured the necessary approvals to build a new $7.5 million, fish oil refinery.

He said the refinery was on track for completion in June, and was expected to begin contributing to the company's bottom line in the second half of the year ending March, 2016.

There were two aspects to the company going forward he said - processing shark liver oil and from June next year the company will become a significant played in the Omega 3 fish oil industry.
