Auckland International Airport's net profit has risen 8 percent to $92.8 million for the six months to December compared with a year earlier.

Revenue rose 5 percent to $251.4 million.

Chief executive Adrian Littlewood said more passengers passed through its gateways.

"We've managed to lift underlying earnings per share by about 12.5 percent and that's been underpinned by growth in all parts of its business," he said.

The airport lifted its full year underlying profit guidance by at least $7 million, to between $167 and $174 million, on the strength of the half year result and continuing momentum over the rest of the financial year.

The company will pay an interim dividend of 7.3 cents a share.
