Pateke-4H well brought into production

4:46 pm on 8 April 2015

The Pateke-4H well has been brought into production and flow testing is underway.

The well is part of the Tui-area oil fields - a joint venture, led by the operator AWE, with New Zealand Oil and Gas and Pan Pacific Petroleum as minority partners.

The operator will be fine-tuning the well over the next few weeks, to determine the optimal settings, and how much the well will contribute to the bottom line.

The well has recorded an initial unstabilised flow rate of 34,000 barrels of oil per day.
