Air New Zealand invests in analytics firm
Air New Zealand and a Canadian based marketing analytics company have jointly bought a retail analytics firm developed by Waikato University.
11 Ants is a cloud-based platform that allows retailers to draw insights from their transactions and customer data.
Neither company would say how much the deal is worth.
Chinese-Kiwi digital book deal
A New Zealand based digital book company has agreed to an international publishing and licensing deal with a Chinese television company that will see it make books and apps featuring popular children's characters in Chinese.
Kiwa says it is the first digital content contract to be signed between a New Zealand firm and a Chinese media company.
Sky City under fire for contracts
The Unite Union is now setting its sights on Sky City's use of zero hour contracts, now that Restaurant Brands has agreed to get rid of them.
The owner of KFC, Pizza Hut, Carl's Jr and the Starbucks chains, has agreed to end the use of the contracts by July, in a new collective agreement negotiated with the Union.
Unite's national director Mike Treen said hundreds of Sky City employees are on either zero hour or part-time contracts, which only guarantees eight hours a week.
