The Commerce Commission has filed charges against a New Zealand company for marketing its NatureBee pollen products as being made in this country.

The commission said the bee pollen was sourced from China, manufactured into capsules in China and then imported to New Zealand.

The Auckland based company, called Topline International, and its director, Jeffrey Bernard Cook, each face 22 charges over claiming the product was made in New Zealand.

Mr Cook has apologised, saying he accepted his company had incorrectly described the country of origin.
