The horticulture and dairy sectors are giving commodity prices a firm boost.
ANZ Bank's Commodity Price Index rose 3.2 percent in May when compared with the month before.
There was broad-based growth - but horticulture led the rise as more new-season fruit came to market.
Dairy prices also rose and were up more than half on the same time last year, as the sector recovered.
Meat, seafood and wood pulp prices also climbed.
