Matt Whineray has been appointed chief executive of the New Zealand Super Fund.

Mr Whineray has been the acting chief executive since March, before that he was the chief investment officer.
He joined the organisation in 2008 as the general manager of private markets.
In 2017 Mr Whineray was ranked ninth in the Chief Investment Officer magazine's list of the 100 top investment managers in the world.
He will start his new job as head of the Super Fund on 1 July, 2018.
