Officials said Beal Certification Service of Wellington was not meeting the scheme's accreditation requirements.

Beal has until 3 October to sort the issues out and is not allowed to evaluate or certify any new building products in the meantime.

It's another blow for Codemark, owned by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Codemark certificates for high-rise cladding products were ruled inadequate and suspended a few weeks ago.

The head of Beal, Colin Prouse, declined to comment.
