Another rate cut by ECB expected this week

Another cut in interest rates by the European Central Bank is expected this week.

ECB board members will meet on Thursday when the benchmark interest rate is expected to cut by half a percentage point to 2%.

The most recent cut was on 4 December when the rate was lowered from 3.25% to 2.5%.

The Bank of England on Thursday cut its rate to 1.5%. The BoE also lowered its rate on 4 December, from 3% to 2%.
