Sky TV up after winning 2011 Rugby World Cup rights

Shares in the Sky Network Television rose 1% on Thursday after the pay television operator won broadcast rights for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Sky has not disclosed how much it paid to provide live coverage of all 48 matches worldwide. It also holds the media rights to the games.

The rights to the 16 matches that will be available on free-to-air television have yet to be decided.
