Drought affects Uruguay farming operations

New Zealand Farming Systems Uruguay expects its operating losses for the year to be $20 million - almost double its original forecast.

The South American dairy farm developer says a recent drought had significant short term affects on the company's performance, lowering milk production and the prices of cattle.

Though there was rain in February provided relief, more dry weather since then has reduced milk production.
