NZX trading volumes and value down

NZX says the number and value of trades on the New Zealand stock exchange decreased in April, compared with the same month last year.

The total value traded for the month dropped 21% to just over $2 billion, while the number of trades fell 12% to 40,848.

At the same time, companies raised $1.7 billion in capital.

So far this year, companies have raised $3.2 billion in capital, which is already higher than the total capital raised last year - $3.1 billion.
