Business slow at Vector

10:50 am on 24 October 2009

New Zealand's biggest electricity and gas distributor, Vector, says demand for connections and energy volumes slowed in the third quarter due to warmer weather and tough trading conditions.

Electricity volumes fell by 1.4% in the three months to the end of September. Gas volumes and new connections were all flat, compared with the same quarter the previous year.

The trading update was issued ahead of the company's annual general meeting in Auckland on Friday afternoon.
