Job market improving - recruiter

10:08 pm on 9 March 2010

An employment survey by recruitment firm Manpower shows employers' hiring intentions have softened slightly, after a notable improvement last quarter.

The company's quarterly survey reports a seasonally-adjusted net 14% of employers saying they are looking to recruit new staff in the next three months, compared with 13% in the previous quarter.

Manpower New Zealand general manager Chris Riley says the labour market is gradually returning to employment levels seen before the economic downturn.
