Vodafone has had a slight increase in customer numbers in the three months to March, while Telecom lost customers.
An extra 11000 users joined Vodafone, taking its customer base to more than 2.5 million. About 70% of the British-based mobile phone giant's customers are on prepaid plans.
Its main rival Telecom shed customers in the same period, and at the end of the three months to March had 2.3 million customers, of which 61% were on prepaid plans.
By February, 2Degrees had 206,000 customers.
