ANZ New Zealand has appointed an Australian, David Hisco, as its new chief executive.
He replaces Jenny Fagg, who stepped down to undergo treatment for cancer.
Currently ANZ's commercial head in Australia, Mr Hisco ran the bank's New Zealand finance firm, UDC, for two years in the late 1990s.
His appointment will need to be approved by the regulator, the Reserve Bank.
