The New Zealand dollar has risen, after a Franco-German pledge to ring-fence Europe's banks from the effects of the debt crisis.
The kiwi has climbed more than 1 cent against its US counterpart since Monday and almost four cents in the last week.
At 5.20pm on Tuesday, it was buying 78.2 US cents.
