AMP New Zealand Office Ltd has signed a deal with Fletcher Building Ltd to carry out a $76 million redevelopment of its ANZ centre in Auckland.
The building is a key asset for ANZO and re-signing ANZ as a tenant was important after the earlier departures of BNZ and Westpac left it with empty buildings.
Chief executive Scott Pritchard says the future for the Auckland market is positive, due partly to the ANZ Centre revamp.
"What we have done is effectively lease two thirds of that building to the ANZ Centre for 15 years," Mr Pritchard said.
"It is great for the ANZ and it is great for us," he said.
