On the sharemarket, the NZX50 index rose 6 points on Monday to close at 3257 on turnover of $74 million.
Among the major share movements: Telecom was up 3.5 cents at $2.485, Fletcher Building was down 8 cents at $6.00, and Contact Energy rose 2 cents to $5.40.
Sky City Entertainment was up 1 cent at $3.48, Sky Network TV gained10 cents to $5.45, Fisher $ Paykel Healthcare was up 1 cent at $2.41.
NZ Oil and Gas was down 0.5 cents at 70 cents and Cavalier Corporation lost 14 cents to close on Monday at $2.40.
The Warehouse was down 2 cents at $3.27 and Kathmandu was down 3 cents $2.52.
Pyne Gould Corporation shed 1 cent to $2.35.
In currency markets, at 5.20 pm the NZ dollar was at 75.63 US, 75.86 Australian, 48.07 pence, 58.09 yen and 0.5595 euro.
The TWI was at 66.98.
