ANZ Banking Group is cutting 1000 jobs in Australia, saying margins are under intense pressure due to higher funding costs and slow loan growth.
Australia's fourth largest bank says the job cuts will be primarily in middle-management, back-office and support functions.
It says changes for staff who deal with customers will be minimal.
