Markets getting more nervous about Greece

Stocks on Wall Street have fallen, as investors become even more nervous about Greece's ongoing debt problems.

The Dow Jones Index on Wednesday was down 102 points, or 0.8%, at 12,776. The Nasdaq Composite was down 7 points at 2925.

In Europe: the DAX in Frankfurt rose 0.6%, the CAC-40 in Paris rose 0.5% and the FTSE 100 in London was flat.

The Australian 200 Index rose 11 points to 4253 on Wednesday and the NZX 50 fell 36 points, or 1%, to 3294 .

At 8.20am on Thursday, the New Zealand dollar was trading at 83.36 US cents, 77.97 Australian cents, 53.17 pence, 65.31 yen and 0.639 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.63.

Brent crude oil was trading at $US121.55 per barrel and gold was trading at $US1732 per ounce.
