Cold night in damaged house

A New Brighton woman is upset that she had to spend the night without power in a quake-damaged house with no information from Orion.

About 2500 people in Canterbury had no electricity on Wednesday night after heavy snow.

Daphne Lewis-Mannix says she has had no information about why a small pocket of houses in her area had no power supply, and no indication of when it might be restored.

She says the earthquakes means her house is not properly sealed and it has been freezing cold.

Ms Lewis-Mannix says both she and her husband are recovering from the flu.
