Fletchers recruiting workers with Work Income's help

The construction company Fletcher Building says it is partnering with Work and Income to recruit workers for the rebuilding of Christchurch.

The company's group general manager of human resources, Kate Daly, says a Work and Income programme manager will be based at Fletcher Building's head office to help place workers in jobs.

Ms Daly says having that person in-house will allow better identification of people who are eager to work but may need extra assistance in finding the right path.

She says through the relationship with Work and Income, Fletcher Building's Christchurch-based Earthquake Recovery organisation has, in the past nine months, placed 26 beneficiaries in paid employment.

Ms Daly says other Fletcher Building businesses are also partnering with Work and Income to provide similar opportunities.
